Also called minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopic surgery is a contemporary surgical procedure in which operations in the abdomen are carried out by smaller incisions (5-twelve mm) when compared with bigger incisions (fifteen cm) in standard surgical procedures. Strengths involve a faster recovery and less pain than classic surgical procedures.
